I haven’t been actively checking out Vocaloid related things for months now, but thank goodness one of my friends is. And she told me that there’s going to be a new Vocaloid! And that she’s likely a rock star type Vocaloid! So lovely!

So You Think You Can Dance
Just watched the Top 6 week of SYTYCD (refer to top for full name) Season 4 that is being broadcast by my local TV operator here and I love it so much. Marksie (Mark Kanemura + Chelsie Hightower) got eliminated this week, they are my top favorite couple. ;_;
Can’t wait to see the Top 4 finale next week, but at the same time, don’t want this season to end yet. Oh, the dilemma. Although I got spoilt by wiki and knows who’s the winner, I still want to watch it for myself. Meaning I have to make sure I come home at 6pm.

I just learned about it from a topic in my most frequently visited forum and I have a feeling I might have heard a few pieces before, without knowing they are OCR pieces. And I regret not knowing about it earlier.
Here are some pretty nice pieces, recommended by a forumer and I quite like a few of them too. Like the Metal Gear Solid remix, both linked Chrono Trigger ones, etc.
Final Fantasy: Distant Worlds!
Okay, it happened a few days ago (22th May 2009) but I went to the Final Fantasy Distant Worlds Orchestra Concert! It was teh love! I have always had a weakness for full blown orchestra pieces, and now that the pieces are some of my favorite game soundtrack, I don’t think I’ll forget this ever. Even with my crappy memory.

Found this video while randomly browsing Joystiq. It’s a pretty cool trailer, nice video style. Square Enix is good at making pretty looking videos. And also at reinventing hoods as the new capes and cards as the new swords (Kingdom Hearts, anyone?). Gosh I can’t wait for it to come, and it’s going to be a long wait, according to this news.
Transformers 2 : Revenge of the Fallen
When I heard that the Transformers movie will have a sequel, I knew I’ll be going to watch it when it’s out. I loved that movie lots, especially the way it sounds. Now that the trailers are out, I want to watch it even more. I’m actually having something like a sugar rush just by listening to the sound effects in the trailer, lol.

Vocaloid : Daughter and Servant of Evil
This is a combined version of the two songs, Rin’s ‘Daughter of Evil’ (悪ノ娘) and it’s alternate side, Len’s ‘Servant of Evil’ (悪の召使い). There’s a story sequel, ‘Message of Regret’ (リグレットメッセージ) by Rin.
Actually, this is not the versions I first saw, but it puts the story together the best, although sometimes the graphics isn’t that great.
The first one I saw for Daughter of Evil is Rin’s “悪ノ娘 PV” with English Lyric, which kind of weirded me out.
As for Servant of Evil, it’s Len’s “悪の召使い” with English Lyric, which had me crying and re-watching it.
For Message of Regret, it’s Rin’s “リグレットメッセージ” with English Lyric Cleaned up, which is a version sequel to the Servant of Evil one. I also cried through this entire video. I can’t find the version prequel, or it would be lovely.
I think the videos themselves should explain the stories well enough, so I won’t touch on them. Go watch them, if you haven’t.
Vocaloid : 夢みることり
I actually listened to Gakupo and Kaito duet version first (the embedded video here), then proceeded to hear the four Vocaloid version (Miku, Rin, Kaito and Len), then the rest of the versions. Surprisingly, I like almost all of them (forgot which one I didn’t like as much). Click on the link if you want to know more, but don’t say I didn’t warn you, it’s a Japanese site. ^^;

What’s more hilarious is I saw this on a cross-posted entry at my Livejournal and noticed, for the very first time, that it features Apocalyptica. And I found this song way before I got into Apocalyptica, lol. The world works in damn weird ways.

And rather than simply ‘Long Version’, the better known name for this version of ‘Disappearance of Hatsune Miku’ is ‘Dead End’. I know of three endings, of which this is the one I like the most.
